Founded by Maria & Riaan, a partnership with a passion for functional, chic and quirky designs, their story began over 25 years ago in beautiful East Devon. United by their passion for service and making people feel great, without knowing it at the time, they embarked on a journey that would transform customers lives and homes.

From the year 2000, Maria and Riaan owned and operated a boutique hotel and restaurant in Exmouth, Devon.  With Maria’s design eye, their hotel rooms and restaurant were curated with thought and detail to create relaxing spaces for guests to enjoy.

In 2018 they decided to leave the hustle of hospitality life behind, seeking a calmer life… but first a small matter of redeveloping the hotel site!

It was during the latter stage of the redevelopment that Maria and Riaan discovered a problem.  Whilst trying to dress and stage one of the properties, they struggled to find anywhere locally that offered the home décor products they needed all in one place.  This discovery inspired them to channel their love for design onto a new course in life. 

For the next five years Maria worked for an interiors company honing her skills as an FF&E interior designer, specialising in soft fabrics and interior décor, she was integral in showcasing products at events such as the Chelsea Flower Show.  Meanwhile, Riaan worked for a furniture manufacturing and retail company specialising in Kitchens and Bedrooms.  Often involved in designing and producing high end projects for the likes of Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen, well known top chefs and famous band members!  After gaining the 10,000 hours experience in both sectors, Bella Casa was born in 2023.

Our mission is simple, to curate distinctive pieces that transform any space into a stylish haven. With Maria’s flair for modern aesthetics and Riaan’s expertise in interior design and installation, they’ve created a business that reflects their unique taste and commitment to quality.

Today, Bella Casa has blossomed beyond our wildest expectations.  We can offer a complete service from home staging to fully fitted kitchens and bedrooms equipped with the décor and soft furnishings to go with it. But most importantly, we are a shop where customers can just pop in,take a look around and enjoy the exciting pieces we have to offer.
